How it works

Tom lives in Site Tools

Open any hosted site and Tom sits in the middle of the workspace, next to the controls.

  1. Step 1

Open a site in Site Tools and ask Tom a question, e.g. “Why is my homepage showing old content?”

  2. Step 2

Tom reads the site's cache, SSL and DNS status and explains what he found.

  3. Step 3

If a fix helps, Tom shows a proposal. You press Approve and it runs through the same controlled job as the manual button.

Illustrative example. Setup needed: a website hosted on AutoToast — no extra keys or connections.

FAQ

Questions about Tom

Can Tom change my website on his own?
No. Tom reads your site and prepares a specific change; nothing runs until you press Approve. Risky changes are designed to take a backup first.
What do I need to use Tom?
A website hosted on AutoToast. Tom is built into Site Tools for every hosted site — there's nothing to install or connect.
Which of Tom's tools are fully live?
Answering questions, reading site status, DNS, SSL, backups, PHP, cache and usage, and proposing a cache clear. File, database, WordPress, security and speed tools are in beta while we prove them on live servers.
Is there an API or MCP server for Tom?
Not today. You or your AI assistant can send us questions through the enquiry form or its JSON endpoint below, but that only contacts our team — it doesn't run Tom.
Does Tom handle billing, email or migrations?
No. Billing and plan changes live in your account pages, the migration wizard moves sites in, and email hosting isn't offered yet.
Can you build something Tom doesn't do yet?
Often, yes. Send a feature request below with what you need. We'll assess it — sometimes the same working day — and confirm whether it's possible, the timing and any cost before anything is agreed.
